Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 September 2026

These terms cover your use of matysandoval.com. They are short on purpose.

This site is a portfolio. It is operated by Matías Sandoval, an independent product designer based in Ecuador. By browsing it you accept what is below. If you do not, please stop using the site.

1. What this site is

A portfolio and an introduction to the way I work. It has no accounts, no checkout, no subscriptions, and no user-generated content. There is one contact form, and what happens to what you type into it is covered in the Privacy Policy.

2. The content belongs to someone

The design, code, text, layout, case studies, images and video on this site are owned by me or used with the permission of the clients they belong to.

You are welcome to read it, link to it, quote a line of it with attribution, and share it. You may not republish it wholesale, resell it, pass it off as your own work, or feed it into a product as if it were yours.

Client names, logos and trademarks that appear here belong to those clients and are shown to identify the work, not to imply that they endorse anything else on this site.

Projects labelled Concept Product were not commissioned by the organisation named. They are self-directed work, built to demonstrate an approach, and they are labelled as such everywhere they appear.

3. Prices on this site are indicative

The services page lists prices and timelines. Those are starting points based on typical scope. They are not a quote, not an offer capable of acceptance, and not a contract.

Real pricing depends on your actual scope and gets confirmed in writing before anything starts. Scope changes are agreed before they are worked on, never billed as a surprise.

Nothing on this site creates a client relationship. That starts when we both sign something.

4. No warranty on what you read here

The case studies describe what happened on specific projects with specific constraints. They are not a promise that your project will produce the same outcome.

Anything here that reads like advice is general commentary, not professional advice for your situation. Do not make a business decision on the basis of a portfolio page, including this one.

The site is provided as it is. I try to keep it accurate and available, but I do not guarantee it is error-free or never down.

5. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption.

This section is about the website. It does not limit anything agreed in a signed client contract, and it does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for a breach of your data protection rights.

6. Links to other places

This site links out to Contra, LinkedIn and occasionally to client products. Those are not mine and I am not responsible for their content, their terms, or what they do with your data once you are there.

The Contra booking links in particular take you to a third-party platform with its own terms and its own privacy policy. Read theirs.

7. Changes

I update these terms when the site changes in a way that needs it. The date at the top tells you when that last happened. Changes apply from the moment they are posted.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador, and the courts of Ecuador have jurisdiction over any dispute about this website.

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, this does not take away the protections of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
